Executive Producer
Director

DAVID FRANZKE

For more then 25 years, David has worked in the functional areas of finance, sales and

operations in industries ranging from television and film entertainment to real estate to digital /

branding media. He has built a reputation as an expert problem solver, effective

communicator, and creative thinker.

In 1996 David formed his first company, Plan B Productions. Plan B was a

movie of the week entity that acquired and sold intellectual property & life rights based in the

true-life crime genre. Over the course of five years Plan B sold four MOW’s to various

networks and studios including Warner Brothers, Paramount, Turner Broadcast Studios and

CBS. Then in 2001, the rights to the company were sold to Actor Brad Pitt and his producing

partners.

In late 2001, David then founded Franzke Entertainment Inc., a full service production company that specialized in unscripted reality television. In addition to his creative responsibilities he also took on the dual roles of Chief Executive Officer & Chief Operating Officer.  One of the earliest success stories for Franzke was a series for MTV entitled Punk’d. The show ran for nine years, and was the highest rated series on MTV for three seasons.

This was followed up with other series such as the BET Network critically acclaimed series Socially Offensive Behavior, hosted by comedian D.L.Hugley, and an innovative game show for the Game Show Network hosted by legendary game show host Wink Martindale.

In 2011 the door to the digital world was kicked wide open with the announcement of the YouTube Original Channel Initiative, which was a $100 million program funded by Google to bring original content onto Google and also kick start Google TV. The channels were collectively known as “original”, “premium” or “YouTube funded” channels. As a result, David started another company called Lazy Shore Productions, Inc. specifically to provide production services to two brand new channels (Atomic Elbow TV & Soiled Britches) created and branded for the urban market. Over the course of eight months Lazy Shore produced seven original series, all unique, all delivered on time and under budget. Lazy Shore was dissolved after the YouTube Original Channel Initiative was cancelled.

In 2013 David was offered the COO position at Go Go Luckey Entertainment, a large production company based in Marina Del Rey, CA. Go Go was going through a major overhaul in their executive ranks and were in desperate need of an executive that could pick up the ball and run with it with little interruption. Over the course of the next two years, David implemented a new series of business development strategies including Federal Government Contracting opportunities. He also oversaw the acquisition and sale of eleven series and pilots for networks and studios including Discovery Communications, History Channel, Lifetime, Esquire, and Travel Channel. In early 2015, Go Go Luckey Entertainment had a successful exit when it was acquired by Eclipse TV providing him an ability to seek new opportunities.

Over the course of his career, David has been nominated for five Emmy awards and in 1996 he and his production team were selected as the Winner for Live Sports Special for the LA Marathon.
